Das Projekt - the Project

The PAAW project is a European Erasmus+ mobility initiative focused on non-formal education and mental health. Its primary aim is to support youth workers in developing both personally and professionally while equipping them with the skills to address mental health issues within their communities. Through creative and experiential learning activities, PAAW fosters intercultural exchange and teaches innovative methods for promoting wellbeing and social inclusion among young people. The project also aims to challenge stereotypes around mental health, enhance cultural sensitivity, and encourage participants to spread the impact of the Erasmus+ program locally and internationally.

Eindrücke - Impressions

“My participation in the PAAW project was a profound experience that completely changed my perspective on mental health and youth education. The combination of a creative approach and practical tools for working with young people has shown me new methods that I can apply directly in my work. I was particularly impressed by the methods for cultural exchange and promoting intercultural sensitivity. The project not only strengthened my professional skills, but also helped me to promote awareness of mental health in our society.”, Karlo/Croatia.

“As a youth worker, I have always looked for new ways to integrate creative approaches into my work. PAAW has provided me with a platform to learn more about the connection between art and mental wellbeing through creative and interactive methods. The activities were inspiring and helped me to break down the stigma around mental health. Thanks to the techniques we learned in New Nagelberg, I feel better prepared to help youth in my community and establish mental health as an important component of our work.” Maria/Spain

“The PAAW project has taken my professional skills to a new level. The experience was not only enriching on a personal level, but also helped me as a youth worker to make better connections with young people. Especially the visits and insights into the local mental health center were valuable for me. I was able to learn many new approaches to working with underrepresented groups and plan to implement these ideas in Italy to promote positive change in my community.” Christian/Italy

“PAAW not only empowered me in my role as a youth worker, but also enriched me personally. The exercises on creative problem solving and social inclusion showed me how important it is to value the diversity and uniqueness of each young person. During the training, I was not only able to expand my knowledge, but also develop new techniques that I can apply directly in my work with disadvantaged young people. It was great to work with people from different countries and develop a deeper understanding of intercultural communication.” Ella/Romania

“Participating in the PAAW project has greatly developed my professional and personal skills. I learned how important creative approaches are to accompany young people on their journey. The focus on mental health was particularly valuable, as this is often a taboo subject in my environment. As a result of the project, I now feel more confident in using creative methods to support young people and promote the importance of mental wellbeing in society. I am motivated to share the content of PAAW with other youth work organizations in my region.” Madara/Latvia
